Using Google Translate on Chromebooks

Accessing Google Translate

    

1.    Open the Apps Folder: Click on the Launcher (circle icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen) and then select Apps to open the folder.


    2.     Locate Google Translate: Scroll through the list of apps until you find Google Translate.

    3.     Launch the App: Click on Google Translate to open it.


Using Google Translate

Translating Text

  1. Type or paste text into the text box.
  2. Select the language you want to translate from and the target language on the bottom.
  3. The translated text will appear.

Using Conversation Mode

  1. Click the conversation icon below the text box.
  2. Speak clearly into the Chromebook’s microphone.
  3. Google Translate will continuously detect your speech and display the translated text live.


Additional Tips

  • If the app isn't visible in the Apps folder, try searching for Google Translate using the search bar in the Launcher.
  • For quick translations, you can also visit translate.google.com in your Chrome browser.
  • Use Google Chrome Extensions for easier translations of entire web pages.
